This song is from the old movie "The Sound of Music". I thought it was quite apt apart from singing the usual Auld Lang Syne! I will definitely miss 2009 dearly, wouldn't you?

I <3 the memories and the people in the memories who made 2009 so such a wonderful year for me! My classmates and I (P106) had indeed went through a lot- from working our asses off for research, experiencing snow for the first time (well, for the bulk of us I believe it was the first time!), celebrating CNY in a foreign land, working our asses off (again!) for the finals, attending my first ever Ball, travelling Europe, graduating the Scottish way, flying back to Summerland (Malaysia), losing the precious 4kg I found in Scottyland, and.... working! (Ok, you must be bored reading...)...

Most importantly, I just feel so blessed and thankful that I have been able to float through this year of the Ox. Of course, God was there for me, always. Honestly, I have not been a very obedient in terms of attending church and praying and walking with Him daily, but whenever I really needed help, He was always there. I speak because I believe, I believe because I experienced. I do not wish to sound "preach-y" here, but really, God has been real whenever I try to listen for His voice. Most of the time this year, I kept shunting Him and do what I wanted. Well, naturally, 1 of my resolution for 2010 will be to listen to Him and read His word.

Ok. So how do we mark the end of a very very eventful and blessed year? Time to reflect on what I have been through this year. Maybe I should make a collage made up of photos to picture what an eventful year 2009 has been for me? (Eech inspired, LOL!) Here are some photos that will make you and I go, "Awwwwwwww man... Ok. It's popeye-wannabe hanging a pursehook around his arm. Actually these hooks are sort of handy- they are tiny but they sure are sturdy when you anchor the purse part on the side of your table etc.and then hang your belongings on the hook part. Ummm, I'm not sure where to get one, but according to Kath's bloggy, http://www.alicewonders.com/ (online shopping) are promoting these hooks. Anyway, you might have probably come across these at shopping malls, I am not sure.

Oops! The whole purpose of this entry is actually to promote popeye-wannabe's muscles. Do you think he really has muscles OR do you think it's just the hook that enhanced the fat of his arm? Accompany me back to 8 months ago...

...when I was enjoying myself back in Scotland. I know posting about past experience is boring, well, this is my blog, I write what I want so read at your own risk. LOL! Anyway, yeah, it feels really nostalgic to browse through photos full of vivid memories like what I did last night. This is a longing feeling that in the future I will be able to go back to the where I had been in Scotland. Or better still, go back to the past? Unfortunately, that is not going to happen. Even if I travel back to Glasgow the next time, it would be somewhat different as there will never be the whole bunch of batchmates there staying together in James Blyth Court, warming the cold winter nights in every unit of every floor. Well, I suppose these will remain one of the happiest happiest memories for me, and I am quite sure, they are happy memories to most of us who had been there in Scotland for a year.

My pendrive came back to me, unexpectedly this evening!

I was amazed by the fact that I immediately recognised the sound of the bell (given by HL ages ago!) that was attached to my TINY TINY pendrive when Tiff shook my pendrive in her clasp palms and told me to guess what it was while beaming at me. Probably it is because I was incessantly thinking about my pendrive at the back of my head, unconsciously.

Fever and totally congested nose

I do not like the feeling of being sick... You know, Fedac (Triprolidine+ Pseudoephedrine) was totally effective last night. I took one and immediately felt drowsy in no time (10-15 minutes). Prolly coz I was too tired from the long journey home, i.e. Furthermore I had fever, prolly caused by my total nose block. It was kind of high, 38 degrees celcius, so I popped a Panadol (Paracetamol).

Morning fellow readers!
Tomorrow I'll be joining a new department at my workplace- PPPP. It's short for Pusat Pasca Pendaftaran Produk, that is Post- Product Registration Centre! Looking forward to tomorrow. I'll be missing PKK (Pusat Kualiti Kontrol OR Quality Control Centre) though. During my short 3 weeks stint there, I have learnt quite a number of stuff. From working with HPLC's and GC-MS to communicating with other pharmacist assistants who are mostly Malay except for 2 staffs. Mr. L was the main person who taught me from the basics how to use the HPLC, i.e. choose the column, install it, make mobile phases...etc etc. I personally do not fancy lab work, but in the end of the day, things did not turn out that sour! Especially on the last day when I had the chance to give a hand to Kak Is, helping her grind the Dequalin tablets that were to be tested. For your info if you don't know already, for some unknown reasons I totally enjoy using the pestle and mortar!

Anyway, I MIGHT post up some photos of my first working days in the Biro at the PKK department. MIGHT only coz I have to study for my jurisprudence examination which will be on the 9th of November!! Super soon. Two books to get acquainted and familiar with. The local pharmacy students have sat for exams regarding Pharmacy Law based on these two books, hence it kind of freaks me out la since I feel totally alien when I flipped through the pages! Urgh. Well, that's not gonna happen anymore coz I'm gonna do well in this. I wish to pass this round ( did I hear someone say, Who DOesn't!). So, latersssssssssssss... and happy enjoying your last day of the weekend before you embark on yet another week. What a vicious cycle! Nah, I believe it isn't that bad coz I trust that every week is different! Really! So SMILE peeps!

W.H.Y. (question mark)

WHY WHY WHY none of my classmates got posted to Birooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

One by one I hear them getting hospitals in Selangor and KL ( of course I get a bit envious but then again I count my blessings as to where I am now and keep telling myself- hey bloom where you were born lah aiyor)! Hospital Klang, Hospital Sg Buloh, HKL, HUKM, Hospital Selayang, Hosp Ampang, Hosp Sabak Bernam (eiii, I don't want this hosp la of coz)... Urgh-ness!! I'm still hoping I'll bump into a classmate come November time.

Sometimes I wonder why am I so clingy but I guess it just feels nice that I have at least one or two classmates working in the same workplace as me since so many of them have each other's company, they practically go in a group (2-3 ppl) to the same hospital. Of course not all of them, some still need to venture individually to seriously unknown places like sabak bernam, WTH!

Counting my blessings, I still find it cool to get acquainted to new colleagues who have by now turned into friends whom I feel comfortable to talk to! So, I suppose it's not where you're posted is important, it's who you're working with is more important!

But tomorrow's Monday already! Ahhhh, short-lived weekend joy! Went to church this morn. Happy to attend holy communion after so long, 1 year!!! *embarrassed* May all who went for the holy communion today be blessed with wholeness and health!

So... I feel like posting photos of my new handbag and purse from Metrojaya and photos of Satay Celup night at my grandma's but I guess I'll prioritise things. Have to study for jurisprudence exam now!

Maternity ward

I always imagined I would end up working in a hospital where I would have time to sneak into the maternity ward to look at newborns from outside the glass windows. Awwwwwwwwwww!! I'll only probably gonna be able to do it next year, if and only if HKL does not exploit me ( i need at least a reasonably long lunch break). As all of you would have known already, HKL is one of the busiest (if not the busiest) hospitals in Malaysia. I could have chosen Selayang hospital but oh well, since HKL is closer to home I decided to go there for my hospita training. Working in biro is not bad. Not bad at all. We get to taste the both worlds, i.e. hospital and industrial/admiinistrative trainings. Well, maybe I do not get the best of good worlds, but it broadens my options whether in the near future I'd like to continue working in the industrial/administrative side or clinical... Ah, tis is my life for now... welcome to my life (by simple plan)!

Anything to do with butterflies means beauty coz they are no doubt pretty little insects. However, there are two exceptions to its beauty:

1) When a butterfly has not fully grown, i.e. caterpillar phase.
2) When they start doing triple somersaults in your TUMMY!!!

When Skinny wants to eat.

Kinda late blog entry here, went out with michelle because could not find an antidote to my then- incurable boredom. Well, not to say I'll ask people out only when I'm bored k.
Of course you "readers" are usually more entertained viewing photos instead of reading, huh.
We went to Marmalade at Bangsar Village 2... eeee, expensive for a person who has not started working, BUT (yes, there is a but or else I would not have gone there and kena con so silly meh =.=) if you have not been there, please do so coz I think their Benny Brekkie set is yummy!

This is michelle's benny brekkie. We ordered the same stuff, to be safe. We heard other floggers (yea man, there are plenty around) trying this smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce and i-dunno-what salad (me no food critic) but it's super tasty! By the way, the big fat juicy mushrooms remind me of Glasgow. *emo*

After finishing our "happy meal" and "exchanging info" about the fate of other classmates from our uni, we cabuted to loiter at Jalan Telawi. I was practically sweating all the way though there were times when it was cloudy but the stuffiness and hot weather were constantly there. Next time will wear shorts only, do not wanna bother what people think about chopstick legs.

We had tea break too at Bisou in Bangsar Village 1. We ordered a cup cake each. Michelle had this tasty Love Me Tender cupcake. It's actually moist choc cake with a decorative peanut butter frosting! This is what we would recommend if you ever try Bisou.

I chose Vanilla Garden coz it resembles me-angelic, girly girl, sweet. Just crapping. It's also moist choc cake but with vanilla frosting. Mediocre. Gimme back my RM5 =.=

Nevertheless, you should give these prettiful and edible but will nt make you full sweets a try. They are so pretty you will not be able to resist :)

Oh yes, bought this lala satin dress from CatsWhiskers. RM12 only. Best of all, it makes me look like a actually have flesh.

It's gonna be "buroh" time!

Hey readers/stalkers/kepoh aunties or uncles. The past one month I have been incessantly complaining of sheer boredom, despite having my boo accompanying me but after that he too was called to report for duty, which left me super bored to the bones! Just yesaterday noon, I finally received the antidote to boredom- m.a.p.o.s.t.i.n.g. The moment Dee passed the letter from KKM to me, I sort of grabbed it from him and started tearing the envelope open. On second thoughts, I handed it back to him and asked him to open it, in fear that I might get buang negeri! In the end I opened the envelope myself and voila! PTL! I got a place in PJ! At that moment, I had this cocktail mix of feelings... It's a VERY good location from my place- in fact, THE BEST. However, seniors have repeatedly told us that we will not be able to practice the clinical side of things at the "Buroh" compared to working in the hospital. I really cannot imagine this. At the very beginning till now, I only wanted to deal with patients, but I think I would enjoy working at this place too. Reasons being: I do not have to wear a labcoat that will hide my office attires, meaning I can still buy nice office outfits and it will still get noticed, 20 minutes drive from my place, go down one ramp and up another ramp and I am in my neaighbourhood already, whatmore can I ask for?, Jaya1 is so near I can really use it to fatten up! Looks like things are taking a turn now. Right now, I just hope that my colleagues and superiors are the bestest ones one can ever ask for in the world! *fingers- crossed and prays*

P.S. 1. I hope all my friends get where they want to work...
2. I am kinda reluctant to step into the next phase of life =.= ( yea I know, one minute I was complaining my ass off, now got posting still complaining, but that is not true, I am reluctant only, not complaining anymore, I am very very contented actually)

Paper Roses!

Ok, as promised (I always keep promises! :P), this is how to make your own paper roses out of crepe paper. No guarantee that the first time you do it, it will turn up like a rose (the first time I made them, they turned out like cabbages, wth!), but nevertheless I think that it is still easy and worth giving it a try. So, let’s skip all the small talk and hit straight to the FUN!





You just need very minimal things:
1. Crepe paper (colour depends on what colour you want your rose to be)

2. A pair of Scissors

3. Ruler

4. A pair of “crafty” hands. WTH ( not sly hands la, just joking!)

A: Measure 2.5cm from one side of the crepe paper and cut it off.

B: Unfold the strand of crepe paper.

C: Hold one end of the crepe paper, and fold in so that there is a shorter end and a longer end.

D: Fold the longer end of the crepe paper and place it on the shorter end of the crepe paper as shown in the photo below.

E: Continue folding the longer end so that you make an angle

F: Now, place the crepe paper as shown in the photo below.

G: Take the longer end and fold it inwards again

H: Your crepe paper should now look like this:

I: Continue folding so that the four angles form a square-like shape. These are the petals

J: Leave a little crepe paper to make the stem of the roses

K: Twirl this end of the crepe paper to form a stick (stem).

L: Leave the stem aside. Now, Use something sharp (as shown below) to align the square petals so that you see a hole in the middle of the square.

M: Insert the twirled stem into the middle of the petals via the “hole” across the layers of petals

N: The stem should go all the way through all the layers of petals

O: Now twist the stem in the direction that will in turn twist the “squares” to shape the petals.

P: You will know whether you are twisting in the right direction when you see the petals twist as in the photo below.

Q: Twist until you are satisfied with the shape of your petals

R: To end, you can either tie the two ends of the “stems” together,

OR
Just use cellophane tape to secure the stem

Alternatively, you can create a twin colour rose by connecting two colours of crepe paper and you will get a rose like in the photo below! ( Of course do this when you are expert enough).

I admit this craft is not easy (at least for me), but I have to also agree that practice makes perfect! These roses can be made as gifts, or as deco attached to presents!
